While in South Africa I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon wine tasting in Stellenbosch, visiting a number of the local wine producers.  One of the wineries claimed to have decent views from the tallest ridge in the area, a little north of the town of Stellenbosch itself.  We meandered on along the road in the rental car, before arriving at a tall gate.  After driving up through the country club-like manicured driveway, we emerged out upon the crest of the hill, and before us was the view you see here.

Needless to say the wine seemed to be particularly refreshing that afternoon, and we proceeded to taste a couple of their house selections, and they weren't bad at all.  However we ultimately slipped out with pleasant memories but without buying a single bottle!
