Here are several shots I took of the Taj Mahal during a visit to India.  For those of you who have never been there, I found it every bit as magnificent as they claim.  The cool white stones provide a welcome relief from the sweltering heat, and the overall design, and surrounding fountains and landscaping frame the main structure quite beautifully.  It is well and truly a tomb fit for a King's favorite wife...

Agra, the town in which the Taj Mahal is located, is not the easiest place in the world to get to however.  We chose to drive there from Delhi, which required 6 hours in slow moving, yet massively dangerous Indian traffic each way.  The driver we had was kind enough to show us several Bollywood films for our drive, and one film, called "Sholay" or "Sparks", became the hit theme of the trip.  Every time our driver would try and kill us, usually by pulling off a daring passing maneuver, the entire mini-bus would shout "Sholay!", and after a bit, the driver caught on, and started taking his hands off the wheel and shouting "Sholay!" as well as he pulled out into oncoming traffic.  Kind of scary I realize...but hey we all made it out alive...and next time out I hear they offer 1 hr helicopters rides!
