Last Fall I had the chance to check out the new annex of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.  Having had fond memories of my times in the main building on the Mall back in University, I was excited to see what had been relocated or brought out of storage to fill the new building out near Dulles Airport.  As it turns out there are some real gems, a number of larger aircraft that clearly wouldn't have fit inside the original location now are available for guests to get up and personal with.  From a sleek SR-71, some pretty looking "Whistling Death" (F4U Corsair), a Space Shuttle testbed, and of course the infamous Enola Gay, there was plenty to see and a fair amount of history.  This dual engined Do 335 "Pfeil" or "Arrow" was pretty cool and right out of "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe" for anyone catching the reference.  The museum isn't full yet either, and I gathered plans are to keep stuffing it to capacity over the next years.  Highly recommended for anyone stuck at Dulles on a long layover or just passing through...
